Formwork Cleaning with Hydroblast’s New Nozzle
What is formwork?
Formwork is a type of mould that wet concrete is poured into to create a desired shape. This is commonly used in construction to create concrete shapes, pillars and staircases, to name but a few. Because the formwork has to withstand huge amounts of heavy concrete and mould it efficiently, they have to be very strong – often made from heavy duty metals such as steel or aluminium. A common problem with formwork is the build-up of concrete residue that remains after use. This creates an uneven surface on the formwork, in extreme cases this can affect the stability of the structure they are used for next. However, more commonly this creates cosmetic damage to the next structure it is used for. This can be a huge waste of time and money.
Hydroblast Methods for Cleaning Formwork
At Hydroblast, we specialise in manipulating high pressure water jets for cleaning and demolition. Formwork cleaning has become one of our most popular services, due to the fact we have an eco-friendly and highly-efficient technique. Our methods of cleaning formwork revolve around using these high-pressured water jets at different temperatures and pressures. These extremely strong jets of water are able to blast the concrete off the formwork without causing any structural damage to the metal underneath.
This method of formwork cleaning not only removes the large chunks of concrete, but removes every last bit of residue to ensure a smooth finish. The formwork is then immediately ready to be used for the next job and the structure that the formwork is used for will be both physically and aesthetically undamaged.
New Nozzle for Formwork Cleaning
At Hydroblast we like to stay at the forefront of water jetting technology, this is why we have recently upgraded our formwork cleaning equipment to include the Ultra Impact Nozzle 3000. This new nozzle works from 500bar up to 3000bar pressure with a 15-degree angle and 4 sapphire tips. The unique feature of these nozzles is the built-in magnetic brake; this enables us to twist the nozzle one way and the nozzle will spin slow. When you twist it the other way the nozzle spins fast. This means the nozzle is extremely efficient and easy to use. When at its highest speed the water coming out of the nozzle is travelling at extremely high speeds; up to twice the speed of sound!
Inside the nozzle there are four sapphire tips which protect the nozzle from damage and allow the water to be delivered at extremely high speeds. The nozzle is also able to be used with pressures ranging from 500bar – 3000bar giving us full versatility for cleaning and surface preparation to many different areas. Formwork cleaning has never been quicker or more efficient at Hydroblast.
As we specialise in providing the highest quality water jetting equipment to our customers, we have stocked the Ultra Impact Nozzle 3000 (with Magnetic Brake) to sell or rent to our customers. This nozzle is a fantastic investment that takes a lot of the unnecessary work out of water jetting, putting adjustable pressures right at your fingertips!
We stock 4 different variations of the Ultra Impact Nozzle 3000; each of which sit at different angles and use different pressure levels. This gives you ultimate flexibility with your water-jetting and minimises the risk of damaging the target you are cleaning.
